Teen Activities at Our Haven

Because Our Haven strives to provide opportunities of interest to everyone who comes to festivals, we are making a focused effort to hold classes, workshops, discussions, rituals and more for the many teens who come to us during festivals and campouts. Too old to be treated like 'children,' and too carefree to be interested in much of what is available to them in the adult programs, teens need venues and activities with them in mind.

To that end, we have established the need for a Teen Activities Coordinator beginning with the 2009 season. This means that several developments are happening at Our Haven in 2009.

• Teens will have workshops, rituals, etc. on the schedule that are either exclusively for them or were specifically arranged with them as a focus.
• Teens and parents of teens will have the option of “bartering in” to festivals (exchanging time/work for admission by helping with projects, tasks, classes, etc.)
• Teens have a specific contact for suggesting activities, workshops, rituals, and more that they would like to see happen at Our Haven.
• Festival organizers can collaborate with the Teen Activities Coordinator in order to align teen programs with their festival’s theme/focus.
